Introduction:
An apparel factory’s primary concern is to provide a product line that will meet the needs of its target market and generate a profit so that the factory can grow. The primary responsibility of merchandising is the product line. A merchandiser develops, designs, and presents a product line with pricing, assortment, styling, and timing in order to meet the needs of an identified target market. A merchandiser can work in the materials-manufacturing, apparel-manufacturing, and retailing levels of the apparel industry. Fabric consumption is the most important function of a merchandiser. The amount of raw materials used to determine the price of a garment is called consumption. The consumption of fabric, sewing thread, zippers, buttons, and other accessories is calculated to determine how much is required to produce a garment. The purpose of this experiment is to learn how to calculate the fabric consumption for woven fabric pants.

Distinguishing between cost and price is fundamental to understanding profit and loss. Cost is the total amount invested in a product. Fabric costing is most important terms. Before making fabric costing, we have to determine the fabric consumption. From this experiment, we learned how to calculate fabric consumption for woven basic pant. This will help in our future life. Thanks to our to teacher to help us.
