According to Niche, the University of Georgia was ranked No. 9 on the top list of Top Public Universities in the U.S. More than 500 public colleges and state universities were ranked in Niche’s 2024 ranking. Let’s first to know about Niche. In the market for connecting families and students to colleges and schools, Niche is the market leader. However, they ranked is based on academic, admissions, financial, and student life data. According to President Jere W. Morehead, the latest Niche ranking reinforces UGA’s position as a top national public university. We are clearly making a very positive impact on our undergraduate students by continuing to make strategic investments in faculty hiring and enhancing the living and learning experience.

The University of Georgia:

Retention rate at UGA is 94%, which means that 94% of students return for their second year. Over 75% of UGA students earn their degrees within four years, and 88% earn their degrees within six years. UGA’s completion rates are far higher than those of its peers. Career outcomes data released by the UGA Career Center show that 96% of students in the class of 2022 were employed, in graduate school or engaged in postgraduate internships within six months of graduation. Approximately 6,200 new first-year students started classes this fall, selected from a record 43,500 applications, making this the university’s largest and most academically qualified freshman class in history. It is the seventh straight year that the average weighted high school GPA of the entering students exceeds 4.0 in this class. Additionally, the class of 2027 has an average ACT score of 30 and an average SAT score of 1339. The University of Florida is the only SEC school in the top 10. The University of Florida also includes the University of Michigan, the University of Virginia and the Georgia Institute of Technology.
